Have you experienced abuse within your marriage or other close relationship?
Do you have the sense that something is wrong in the relationship, but you can’t quite put your finger on it?
Maybe you have wondered if you should bring your concerns up to church leaders, but are afraid of being labeled the nagging wife. Maybe you have brought them up, and your concerns have been minimized, you have been told to “try harder” or to focus on your own behaviors, not those of your spouse. Maybe you are starting to wonder if you are the crazy one, all the while feeling more and more alone, sad, and scared in your own home.
Welcome to a place of hope, support, and resources. You are not alone, you are not crazy, and God sees you.
I am a believer in Jesus Christ, a military officer, and a survivor of narcissistic marital abuse. Through my own experiences and through hearing the stories of many other women (and a few men), I realized that the church has done a poor job of supporting one of the most vulnerable groups within its walls – and has, at times, unwittingly supported abusers.
My goal is to provide support, encouragement, and resources for those in abusive relationships, and to educate church leaders and others in a position to help those within their local church bodies.
